I just created a new photo gallery from last night. So sorry we didn't think of taking group shots until some had left! Also I'm missing the IC- largest group there- group shot. Please load to gallery or add here and I can move it. Any other candids would be appreciated!

Lots of fun memorabilia was brought and I think enjoyed by all! Some had every grade school report card!

Lots of thanks go to Mary Kay and Gus for bringing a salad for 40 with Gus' special yummy dressing and to Clare for running around buying the alcohol!! Also a special thanks to all who made the effort to come! Joe McCarthy footed the bill for the party and gave us the impetus to have the gathering! A bunch of great people!!

P.S. I moved the message forum up to second item on the left since it's about the most popular place on the website!

Thanks again for a great party. Got there a little late, so I missed some folks. But so enjoyed the get-together.

Thanks, expecially, to Janie, Clare, Gus & Mary Kay, and Joe. It was a great turnout and so much fun. I took a few photos wth that my archaic camera (yes, I know how to take photos with my phone, I just never remember to take it with me), but they're not great--just really candid shots. But will try to post them if I can figure out how.

Anyway, a fabulous evening--so glad I didn't miss it.

Let me add my thanks to the chorus. Janie and Clare make it so easy for us to show up, feel welcome and have a great time. It was a lovely evening with renewed friendships and new friendships formed. It felt so spontaneous but I suspect that is because of all the hard work behind the scenes.

We are simply blessed.

Adding thanks to Janie and her "crew" for a wonderful party! It was a great turn out!! The salad was great, the cream puffs really yummy but the relaxing feeling and good conversations with so many was the best part. Thanks Janie for taking the time to make this happen. I look forward to more gatherings🤗  May God bless those of us fortunate enough to be there and all of you who were there in spirit!

I don't know if you know but Peggy Southworth was living in Simonton, Texas for many years until her home was destroyed from previous flooding. She is now living back in Columbus with her sister. It was so great to see her at the class party last night. I asked her about the current flooding and she sent the following message. If you are considering a contribution to this relief effort you will want to know about this church in Simonton. I am sending a contrubution right away.

  Hi Janie,
I can't figure out how to get this message to everyone so I'm hoping you can help me. As we were discussing last evening (GREAT TIME!!) often times people see a tragedy and want to help but don't know where their donations would do the most good. For this Texas flooding I recommend my former church in Simonton, TX. That community is flooding - again - and worse than the May, 2016 flood which was deemed the worst Brazos River flood in that area since 1903. Many folks in Valley Lodge only just these last several weeks moved back into their newly repaired/renovated homes!
By the way - FEMA was a big no-show in 2016. It was a joke and in many ways an enormous emotional hindrance. It was the churches who RAN to the aid of those effected in Fort Bend County! And I mean churches from all over the country! Even the Amish and Menonites camped out in our community for about two months offering aid and food. They came from Ohio, Kentucky, and Pennslyvania!
Just indicate the donation is for flood relief and Simonton Community Church will wisely put it to use. They also partner with other local churches who do the same. There has been flooding in Valley Lodge, Simonton several times and people from far and wide remember "Simonton Church" stepping in to help. The church doesn't care if you are a church member of ANY church. If you need help - they are there! I could not have survived the May, 2016 flood without their help, support, love, and prayers.
Here's the information: Simonton Community Church, PO Box 121, Simonton, Texas 77476
Thank you so much!

MIKE,

I thought I saw a T-shirt at the party that said  "KEEP CALM and EAT CREAM PUFFS" - so in your absence I ate yours. I knew you wouldn't mind.

Always willing to pitch in for a buddy.

( don't anybody tell Clare, but they were actually so bad I had to force my last 6 or 7 down just to be polite )

Let me add to the chorus of thank you's - Janie, Clare, Mary Kay and Gus.  Since I was unable to attend our 50th reunion, I so enjoyed getting together this year.  This was a special evening and we are truly blessed.

Sorry for such late notice but Keith and I are having dinner at the Old Bag o' Nails tonight at Tremont Shopping Center (across from the U.A. Library). Join us later for a drink 7:30 ish.

There may be an Al Judy sighting! Or possibly a Joe McCarthy???

Tried to reach a few of you directly and don't have numbers - Toni and Fritz - Joe G. - Janie - Mary Kay and Gus - Charlie Kaps - Kevin Cull ---- whoever is in town. Left messages but no response.

Dear Janie and Clare,

Thank you so much for reaching out to me to be included for the 1966 Class Reunion last year and also Saturday night....it was great fun last year and again Saturday night!!  Thank you for the pizza, salad and the Cream Puffs....everything was delicious!!  I would say our group looks pretty good for our age and hard to believe that next year we will all (or most of us) will be 70!!  It was easier with the smaller group Saturday night for me to reconnect with old classmates....thank you all!!  Thank you again Janie and Clare for putting it together....sincerely,   Susan Galbreath Pryor
