Joe G.

I would also wish you a Happy Birthday, but It begs a question. Didn't you just have one of these last year?

I mean really - after a while don't they start getting kind of old?  I did one (again) last year and it really wasn't much different from the one before.

Oh well, take one for the team and have blast anyway.

To David M and Mark S -- thanks for remembering my birthday.  We are all marching on in our lives.  I do feel my age but....the alternative isn't so nice either.  I am looking forward to our mini-reunion this Saturday. We love to see you both again.  Joe G

Happy Birthday + 1, Joe!  I rarely remember the exact day for anyone so this is a concept I am trying to sell to Hallmark.  I hope you had a great day and will have an even greater year ahead.

James Hamilton, M. D.

My greetings to all who will be attending the "55th Grade Schools Reunion" on Saturday the 26th! A special hello to all my 1962 IC classmates. I truly wish that I (and Janet) could be there to join you in the festivities but will be there in spirit.

With the many topics that have been discussed on this Forum and the new and renewed friendships which have developed it should be a wonderful time. I anticipate reading many posts about the event and viewing the pictures that all of you aging "Baby Boomers" will hopefully attach. This should be a great ending to the summer of (most of us) being 69. Maybe you should make that Bryan Adams' hit your theme song!

Have a great party,
Jim

Jamie,

Better lay on more security for Saturday night. Rumor has it a couple more OLP thugs might just wonder in off the streets.

THANKS FOR ALL THE BIRTHDAY GREETINGS!  My brother and sister took me and Leo out to lunch and then came back for cake and ice cream.  Leo and I went out to dinner.  He also brought me a bouquet of my favorite flower - carnations.  He just showers me with his love and that is all I really need.  Joe

I don't think we need any further proof that IC girls were roughly ten zillion times prettier than olp girls. I mean it was commonly understood in the diocese back then.

Mike,

Them's fightin' words boy!

Ten Zillion times?   "commonly understood"  --- in which Diocese?  Detroit?

I'd match our bevy of OLP beauties against anybody's.

Well Dave as Dan pointed out, it was, and remains, a moot point.

Mike, but we OLP girls were more fun!

Post 1719....

Cody shoots.....

Cody scores !!!!!

Wasn't OLP so far up North that most people thought of it as Westerville or maybe Delaware? Like "almost cosmopoiltan, but, no, not really". Isn't that where Sunday Mass included rattlesnake handling? Although St Agatha had more than its fair share of Babe-raham Lincolns, in 8th grade it was the St. Chris girls that got some serious attention. Uhhhh, Mary Jo Fortin....Somebody Van Pelt...anybody remember more names from there??

If you all have a buncha fun tonight (8/26) I am going to be so jealous. Party On!

So true Mary Ann!!!!

James Hamilton, M. D.

Janie,

If this post gets to you in time, please urge all those at tonight's party who seldom (if ever) join in the discussions on this Forum to do so! I'm sure we would all love to hear from them.

And maybe invite Fritz to be a Guest Member of our class as he comes to our reunions and feels like one of us. Besides, it is always nice to stack the deck with another IC grad...

Meanwhile back at the ranch - (the Groff ranch) -- Keith and I are assessing what a fun night we all had. We give it score of 10 !

Thanks again Janie for a sweet night !

That same college chick was there again and still selling girl scout cookies. Gus, for Pete's sake, why don't you get your sweet little niece a baby sitter and bring someone your own age!

Tim,

Your geography skills are aboviously not your stong suit. Even further to the north of the kingdom of "OLP" was the master race known as St. Mikes. Where the cafeteria served frozen chip munks on a stick - and ice fishing was a grade school varsity sport.

But yes, St. Chris had it's share a of pulchritude. I fell in love with that very same M.J. Fortin for all of a week or two and Litzinger had it for the same Miss Van Pelt. But the cutest of that bunch I think was Donna Bain. Or was she an "Agatha" lady? We started seeing that bunch jumping up and down on the sidelines of grade school basketball games on Saturday mornings at Watterson. We should'a been paying more attention to one Gene Rogers on the court, but the temptations off the court were more interesting at the time, and created a costly distraction.

JIM,

The problem with letting Fritz show up is that he's too nice of a guy. I've developed a habit of ending each reunion function with him, and last night he and Toni would not let me go home. We were all gone - Janie had said good night and closed the door - and the three of us stood outside for another 20 minutes yacking. It was past my bed time. This has to stop.

To everyone that couldnot make it to Janie's Soiree last night for various reasons, including the old excuse that the lawn mover tipped over, you missed a Fantastic Soireelast night.  One of Janie's great co-hostess who will remain anonymous (did I get that right Mary Clare) helped put on a fabulous event.  Unfortunatley it was too short, 6:00 P.M. till past10:00 P.M.when I realized it was past my nap time.

Tom Fitzpatrick attended and brought a very nice group of St. Michael's items Included wher some slide, report cards, the "Letter" from his St. Michael's grade school letter jacket (the letter jacket is at St. Michael's, a great tax write off.  Tom also mentioned having been a teacher (tormentor) at Watterson.

Mr. Lawn Mower Tim, although I have names of all the St. Christopher Girls at home. I will add a few names now and the rest when I returnto California in September.  Lind Van Pelt, Donna Bain (although I am not sure if she transfered to another parish) Pamela Guyton (although I believe she went to Grandview), Carolyn DeBellis (the family moved to ?Florida?), Melitta Morrow (probaly Grandview), Mimi Kruse, and the rest when I can.

There was some talk about having monthly or quarterly gatherings, luncheon or evening get togethers.  It's up to all of you to decide.  There is still a chance that Al Judy or Dick McNamara MIGHT show up at one of these.

Tom Fitzpatrick also mentioned that a parish just west of Rt.315 and south of Broad on Grubb St. has a Museum contaainting all the ifo on Aquinas and attendees from inception in 1905 till closing in 1965.  Info is available on the Columbus Aquinas website as to hours etc.

Janie, and all anonymous co-workers/helpers/assistants, I for one want to state that anyone who didn't make last nights event missed a fantastic event.  Thank you, but next time come up with a better excuse for the get together.

Joe
