Bonnie, I'm sending positive thoughts and prayers for you as you go through this treatment. We are all behind you with love and best wishes. I'm sure you will be beautiful as a warrior woman with your bald head, so wear it proudly. Lots of love flowing on this forum, and now it is flowing to you. God bless.
Bonnie, with this group behind you I imagine you can already feel the positive energy flowing. It will continue until your long blonde tresses are again flowing. Love and prayers.
Darn it Bonnie, you are the second one of my friends to have this harsh news in one week.
I would normally send my prayers on the wings of Angels, but in your case I am asking God to send them on the wings of Butterflies - millions and millions of Butterflies.
And besides, bald ladies get to show off the prettiest earings.
You are in my prayers Bonnie. I too lost my hair due to chemo but it grows back!! I hope you don’t find it too diffucult!! You are strong. You and Guido have been thru so much. STAY STRONG🙏🙏🙏 I know you feel all the love, prayers and strength coming from all of us. Blessings to you as you continue to fight😷>
Bonnie, I am going to mass this morning. My prayers are offered to give you the strength to see you through this. My 43 year old daughter just finished chemo in February. She also was a little shaken losing her hair, but cancer strengthen her faith in God. The 3 F’s. Faith, Family, and Friends will get you through this Bonnie. ❤️
Bonnie- positive thoughts and best wishes! You are stronger than you think. Keep this class's and your family's good vibes in your mind as you go through this. We're all thinking good thoughts for you.
With that beautiful face of yours who needs hair. Forget the tattoo——a beautiful scarf with a butterfly pin! Along with all your forum friends, I will keep you in my prayers. May your guardian angel wrap her wings around you, watch over you and bring you positive thoughts and comfort in the days ahead.
Bonnie, please know that you are in my prayers, and that we prayed for you at Mass this morning. You have a lot of people -- and God -- on your side as you fight this!
Such a dear friend in need has so many friends, indeed! And we’re all thinking of you and cheering you on in your fight. Though our good wishes and prayers come from so many different places, we’ll be right there with you in spirit. Live strong!!
Be assured of my prayers for you as well. I know that faith can work miracles, and that is what I will be praying for. You now have a strong group of prayer warriors interceding for you, so I hope our love and support will allay any fears. God bless you.
Positive thoughts and prayers coming your way. I had cancer two out of the last three years and I used medical cannabis for the pain and nausea. It was in the form of carmel corn, three to four pieces and I was good to go.
Seems like we've all heard a lot of sad, angry, disturbing news this week. From Bonnie to my friend Roger's wife (yea, the guy in the cobra gunship - they were jsut about to sail away for a year when her breast cancer came back last week), to hurricanes and flooding (good friends up in North Carolina getting ruined), to nasty devisive politics, and an angry, suspicious, and at times, unfair world in general. Somebody is forgetting that our Creator left room for some beauty and joy here and there.
But the trick is, we are the ones who have to give it to one another!
When life pushes me into a corner I often revert to one of (or all of) my three favorite "weapons"; prayer, humor, and music. Sounds like a lot of prayers are being lofted already. And in this case not too much to be funny about. But maybe we could all enjoy a few minutes of something beautiful to the ear.
I have been an A.B. fan for almost thirty years - from way back when he first started to appear as a young voice on some of those 8 or 10 years of Pavoratti's annual "War Child" albums to raise money for his music school in Sarajevo. (large outdoor stage venue in his home twon of Modena Italy) Pavoratti brought in dozens of various "western'" and European Pop and Rock singers and mixed them all together in some of the most unusual duets and combos in both Rock and Classical songs. Elton John's "Someday We'll Live Llike Horses", and Pavoratti and Erik Clapton's "Holy Mother" duet stand out as favorites among many. Watching Pavoratti duet with Tracy Chapman on "Baby Can I Hold You" is interesting. Or his duet with Bryan Adams on "O solo Mio" - wow!
That's were I first heard Gerardina Travatto, a wonderful Italian Pop female singer. (maybe I'll post her some time later)
But I just now realized that Andrea Bocelli has two grown sons, and this is him with his oldest. Sounds like a voice I hope to enjoy for a long time to come.
So Bonnie, (and Laurel), and everybody out there in a hard place, I hope this will lift your spirits for a few moments.
Poor kid - Matteo is his name (just 21 this month). With those looks and that voice he'll probably never be able to attract any girls. And his younger brother Amos is even better looking, but I think he only plays the piano. Too bad.
Dave I too have been a big fan of Andrea Boccelli for many years. Did you know BBC did a film about his life? The Silence of Music. I believe it is now on Netflix.
Thank you ALL for your responses! I start my "Shagnasty" chemo (what I call it!) @ 1000 today...have my scope patch and will have pre-meds to help. I am hoping I can respond right now to SOME of the comments: Tattoo - NONONO! I am sure I will be allergic to the ink! (My son must have inherited the dye allergy from me - his last tat was his LAST tat...too bad of an allergic reaction! Have had friends recommend a Henna crown, but the benzene rings in the henna would make that a no, as well
Can't do MJ, either...eating or smoking, but I am glad it worked for you!
Linda Baer Schell fixed up three hats for me - a soft knit multi color cap with a Monarch Butterfly, Dave! a multi pastel scrub cap that she afixed a cross to the front, and a black scrub hat that she doctored with red ribbons, OSU ribbons, buckeyes, beads and a pig's hiney that says "We Kick..." I'm wearing that one for game day!
I can FEEL all the support from you all! Thank you is SO inadequate! Just be aware that I am sending them back at you all!
Bonnie, you are in my thoughts and prayers! When I was going through chemo I tried to take one day at a time and that helped. The good news is that when your hair grows back it usually is curly and beautiful!!
Bonnie, you need to post photos of yourself in the hats Linda made for you! They sound adorable and just like something our thoughtful friend would do! Lots of thoughts and prayers coming your way!
How about a plaque or painting or cross-stitch sweater of the Tennessee State troopers badges, with some Buckeye leaves wrapped around the bottom of it like some sort of Laurel wreath?
If there is any way you could release that great story onto this site, I think the rest f the gang would love to hear it. When I first saw it years agoI laughed my head off! Wasn't it front page USA TODAY?
So I say, if you can beat the "brilliant" Tennessee State Patrol, you can surely beat this.

Alan,
I had the DJ at my youngest daughter's wedding play "Time to Say Goodbye". Unfortunatley, he played the all-Italian track on the CD and most of the crowd didn't get the significance. The first time I heard this new video I was stunned at how close Matteo's voice is to his old man.

Joe, meanwhile,,,,,,,,,, I'm going to cheat and make three guesses;
The Ed Sullivan Show - David Letterman - or maybe our favorite "Four O Seven Seventh, Mobile Army Surgical Hospital" ???
(maybe Lucy back in teh 50's and 60's ? - okay that's four guesses)
Surely not American Bandstand with Dick Clark? - sorry, that's five.... Fred?
Yesterday I forayed onto the North Slope of Pikes Peak to photograph what are probably the last remnants of autumn at this latititude and altitude. It was a gorgeous day and many aspens were at peak splendor but the wind was constant and brisk and the leaves were blowing away like dust in the wind (wasn't that a song by the group, Kansas?).
Anyway, I captured some good shots and I have attached a couple of interesting ones to this post. The first one is of my SUV which I had parked by some rocks but did not notice the big oval one, which appears to be sliding over some ball bearing-like other rocks, until I was walking back to my vehicle.
Although I had said that I was finished photographing the deer in our neighborhood for the year, I didn't mention deer in the mountains. The second photo was unexpected in that I had just climbed back up the hill from South Catamount Reservoir (one of seven that supply our city's water) and was driving down the dirt road above it when I noticed five thirsty ungulates approaching close to where I had just been. What a photo op! I took several frames of them drinking our precious Colorado Springs water supply, like lions at a water hole in the Serengeti, with some aspens, pines and Pikes Peak in the background.
