I deeply regret the passing of Jeff Eisenman. He was a kind and decent person. I looked at the picture Mary Margaret sent in and had another sad feeling loolking at Christine and Mary Clare who are no longer with us, they were great people as well.

Thank goodness we have our reunion right around the corner. I am thankful to Watterson for so many things, but mostly for the great people I met while attending our school. People from other Watterson classes want to join us on Friday. Folks like Jim Moses want to see Tom McKeon and share memories with him. I encouraged him to join us. I reminded everyone that Saturday is not open to anyone but our class, spouses, dates, and special guests like Fr. Larry Hummer.  

Special Thanks are due to Monica Brown, Brian McNamara, and Janie Albright Blank. They went way beyond expectations. Dave Dunn has been a "behind the scenes" guy along with Nina Osborn. Theresa Zeyen and Kevin Cull chipped in with great ideas. We are in for a great get together.

One more person I want to thank: Rocky Amicon. He helped find a fantastic place for our Friday get together and I am lucky to have him as a great friend

This is one reunion that I really want to go to, but I'll be on my way to Florida for a vacation - havne't had a vacation in years and Leo and I both need it.  Have a wonderful time.

Yes, I also saw the pictures of our classmates that Mary Margaret sent -  they are gone and now Jeff Eisenman.

When we went to Watterson, the guys I was friends with (close) were Bill Reid, John Roach (decesced), Ray Vaughn (deceased), and now Jeff Eisenman!  Also knew Michael DeTemple well and now he is in the Dominican Sisters of Peace nursing home (Mohun Hall) with Alzheimers.  I see him about every 2 weeks and he knows me and we visit, but his short term memory is gone. It all makes me sad.

The air has been really smoky here in New Jersey the last few days and I’ve read it’s also bad in other parts of the Northeast and upper Midwest.

Not sure about the rest of you, but I’ve had it with all the “nice” Canadians (who our President has referred to as “not so nice”).  Fox News is reporting that they have deliberately set their forests on fire and have used giant fans to blow the smoke southward just to spite us.

And talk about DEI run amok, what self-respecting country would recognize French as an official second language?  And I’ll bet their armed forces are just fine with their warriors being ”low T”.

Things will be very different when our neighbors to the North become the 51^st state...

Get busy with a new project,  updating your profiles.  We no longer produce a book - talk about a laborious project - I sent out this question yesterday and am pleased to see some people - all women- have already updated their profiles. 😇

Assuage (pronounced /AH SWAYDGE) is a formal verb that means to make an unpleasant feeling or physical discomfort less severe. It is most commonly used when talking about calming emotions, easing physical pain, or satisfying a craving.

I like it because a) it's a happy word, literally about feeling better and b) it sounds fancy to say. 

Go ahead. Call me a nerd. I'm a word nerd. But come to think of it I can't remember ever using the word in a conversation. It sounds too fancy. It's like a pretty piece of china you'll never take out of the cupboard.

I aplogize but at the last minute, I've decided I'm unable to come to the reunion.  My longest serving employee (30+ years) has been out of work the last three weeks and has been diagnosed with lymphoma and it is very unlikely he will ever return to work.  My company is tiny (4 employees including me) so I'm doing his work plus mine and I just can't afford to take the time until I hire someone to help.

I like what I do but I'm foolish for working so long - got to figure out the next chapter for my company and for me.

I also had my second cataract surgery yesterday but I'm doing well with that (not my primary reason not to  come).

Carol is still coming to Columbus and I signed her up for the reunion and I think she will still attend - she has kept in touch with at least as many members of our class (via ODC, OSU, etc) as I have.
